Change Beyond Moments

Bringing a renewed focus on strategy and learning & development to a range of organisations from socially driven, not-for-profits to values centred businesses in reimagining change in a fast moving world.

Focal Elements offers bespoke services, developing a solutions focussed approach to the ever-evolving nature of organisations and uncertainties impacting communities centred around strategic development, organisational culture, audience engagement and inclusion.

We bring together personal experiences blended with professional engagement of working within different sectors; grant making, not for profits, social change and public sector. We draw on insights, current practices and knowledge to explore creative ways to be dynamic and adaptable to unexpected change.

Our values-based approach has allowed us to support and be part of long-term movements for a diverse range of local and national initiatives. We bring leaders, community projects and businesses together in exploring innovative approaches balancing organisational needs and movement building.

Who We Are

Focal Elements was founded by Ismail who brings over a decade of leadership and grassroots experience in education, not for profits and social change. His strength of stepping away from the immediate to look at the bigger picture whilst being pragmatic to the reality of everyday challenges brings a fresh perspective in unlocking potential and creating long term impact.

Having observed that many purpose-led teams and leaders operate within a particular frameworks which can often stand in the way of actualising well intentioned commitments to organisational development and practices. Ismail has developed his approach to be relationally driven whilst facilitating people, teams and communities from an enabling lens in developing collective working practices, acknowledging that we are part of an eco-system where overlap with multi stakeholder involvement is the norm.

Ismail is invited regularly to speak at events and acts as an advisor for a number of public and not for profit sector organisations in providing insight and expertise on access and inclusion , learning & development and audience engagement.

Art & Culture

  • Working with Focal Elements has genuinely leveraged my business significantly. Through a thorough strategy review and regular consultations with Ismail, I'm confident our growth both financially and operationally has been due to his input. Recommend him and his consultancy highly.

    Isle Health

  • Ismail is incredibly friendly and approachable, always willing to help whenever needed. His experience in strategic planning and development was invaluable in helping us identify ways to improve and develop a comprehensive strategy document.

    Sunflower Suicide Support

  • Ismail was a really good listener and delivered information well. The honesty from him was also important - he's a Muslim but that doesn't mean he can speak for every Muslim. I've taken a lot away since that Faith Awareness day, and would highly recommend it to others!

    National Trust

  • Ismail has been a fundamental support to the setting up and development of Chispa CIC. His knowledge and understanding of strategic development coupled with the development of organisations, programmes and projects which centre inclusion and representation is both unique and powerful.
